This is greatApr 17, 2009 This and my laptop are always togeather. It is almost like a part of my computer. They are both on my lap from the time I get home until I go to bed. My lap never gets uncomfortable from the heat anymore. Thanks XPad for this great product.
Simple, yet highly effective Apr 09, 2009 I use my MacBook in a company van for an hour each day as I ride a van to and from work. This is the perfect product for me when I use my laptop in the van. Without this product the MacBook is far too slippery and slides all over the place as the driver weaves through city traffic. The top of the Xpad grips the MacBook nicely, and the bottom of the Xpad is soft and not slippery.
Sometimes my MacBook runs hot, which is no problem, since I never feel unwanted heat through the Xpad. Note, I can keep the Xpad in the van, so its thickness is a positive, not a negative. It is rather large to keep in one's brief case. Another use for it would be at home or in any environment where one placed a laptop on something other than a desk or table (e.g. on a lap).

Great for sitting on a car seatFeb 22, 2009 I have a 17" laptop that I use as a GPS while traveling (with DeLorme Earthmate LT-40). I needed something to keep the cooling vents from being blocked while it is sitting on my car passenger seat. After reviewing everything I could find, this looked like the best bet - and I wasn't disappointed. It is less than a perfect fit for my laptop size but the "feet" position perfectly and I have taken several cross country trips without any overheating problems and the computer is on full time.
I have also been using it under the computer even when I am at a desk to increase cooling space. For my needs of keeping cooling vents open on a car seat, it is perfect.
works great, even for large laptopsJan 11, 2009 I love this laptop pad. I have a 17-inch laptop (dell inspiron 9400) and when I place it on the xpad, the "legs" do cover part of the two vents on the laptop. To avoid this problem, I turn the pad sideways. The non-slip raised legs hold the laptop in place without covering the vents and its still very comfortable on my lap. The corners are slightly rounded, I don't have any discomfort with the xpad on my lap. To me, this is the perfect solution--no fans, no connections, lightweight, less expensive, easy to use. I am using it now--the laptop is not getting hot and the pad is not getting hot either. I would strongly recommend that you try this before a more expensive, fan-type product.
Keep it cool, your lap that is. Great ProductDec 21, 2008 This item works as described. I use it on my widescreen HP pavilion, no more HOT left leg - that is where the HP's fan is. It is non skid and comfortable to have on the lap for hours. I also use it when on the counter. It rasises it up off the counter about an inch and helps with overall airflow of the laptop.
This unit is passive, not plugged in. The plug in models can get noisy and also take the chance to burn out the USB port of your computer. Go for a passive unit and get this one.
